The latest iPad Pro model with the mighty M4 chip is available now from Apple, but should you buy one? The iPad Pro line-up hasn't been updated in two years (since 2022), so there's understandably some excitement around this new Pro tablet skipping Apple's M3 chip and diving straight for the M4. As far as deals go, we're already seeing $50 off the 11-inch iPad Pro over at Amazon. This might not seem like much, but we think that any discount on a brand-new iPad is worth shouting about, especially in the first week of release.
Prices for the iPad Pro M4 start at $999 for the 11-inch Pro, and $1,299 for the 13-inch model with entry-level specs . Both of these have a minimum of 256GB storage – which is pretty generous – and boast an ultra retina XDR display.
A common criticism with previous iPad releases is that the bump from each generation isn't really worth the upgrade, but with the move from the M2 to M4 chip plus a huge jump in power and performance, we expect there to be a lot more Apple fans this year hoping to snag a deal on the newest iPad Pro.
If that sounds like you, you're in the right place. This page is dedicated to finding the best iPad Pro M4 deals as and when they go live in your region, using our clever shopping widgets. A new 6th generation iPad Air (M2, 2024) has also hit the shelves, which we recommend for those who don't need Pro-level power.

The most expensive iPad yet
For the first time ever, we can recommend the entry-level model of the iPad Pro without quickly following it up with a mention of the measly storage you're going to get. The iPad Pro M4 does away with this by starting at 256GB of SSD – that's a class move! The latest iPad Pro models will also be compatible with the new Apple Pencil Pro, and the iPad Pro is the thinnest Apple product ever at only 5.1mm depth.
There's also the Ultra Retina XDR to shout about, which is a bright and precise-contrast display, boasting a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 for intense visuals. We can't obviously give the iPad Pro M4 a star rating for real right now, as we've not reviewed it yet (coming soon). But purely from the specs, we think this is going to be a very useful tool for creative professionals – perhaps the best Pro yet.
Our advice: For those on a budget, it might be a good idea to wait a while to buy this latest model. We know from experience that seasonal sales such as Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday will present the perfect opportunity to bag yourself a bargain on both of these models (although usually the bigger saving will be on the bigger and more expensive tablet).
Don't want to wait that long? Maybe now is the right time to check out the best deals on the previous iPad Pro M2 12.9 model. (Pssst - we've even seen the 11-inch, 256GB model go for as low as $750).
FAQS
Is this iPad Pro expensive?
To give you a bit of price history, 2022's M2 iPad Pro retailed for $899 and $1,099, for the 11-inch and 13-inch models. So the new 11-inch Pro model is $100 more expensive than the 2022 model, and the 13-inch model is $200 more. Of course, you do get a huge boost in CPU power and faster performance with the M4 chip. But still, that's a lot of money!
We only recommend the iPad Pro for Pros. Chances are you'll need to rely on the performance and power of this device to complete performance-heavy tasks and manage your creative workload. If you don't need a super-powered iPad then we highly suggest you check out the latest iPad Air (M2, 2024) instead, it's perfectly capable for most people and will save you splashing money on a Pro.
In search of even more quality? When you upgrade the iPad Pro M4 specs to the 1TB models, you can also choose between the nano-texture glass – bumping the price to $1,699 for the 11-inch and $1,999 for the 13-inch respectively.
